White sandy beaches combined with inviting clear and shallow waters make Clearwater Beach the ideal place for a beach vacation. And there is plenty to do along the palm-lined beach walk promenade in Clearwater Beach. For sure, you can be as active as you like, or you can sit back in your beach chair under a cabana if that is more your style. Activities are endless: dolphin spotting tours, fishing charters, parasailing, paddle-boarding, sunset sailing tours, and so much more. Restaurants are plentiful and range from the super casual to more formal depending on your likings.
Just down the road you are close to historic St. Petersburg Beach with the pink Moorish-style hotel, the Don Cesar, which was built in 1928 and its lovely sugar sand beaches. And much like Clearwater, the beaches are spectacular with plenty of activities to choose from. Just across the Pinellas Bayway is the charming downtown area of St. Petersburg. Downtown St. Petersburg has much to offer with its waterfront parks. These parks host the Dali Museum; the Museum of Fine Arts and the Mahaffey Theater. The Mahaffey Theater is the home of the Florida Orchestra. Of course, there are many great restaurants and entertainment options here as well.
Just over the Corey Causeway from St. Petersburg Beach is the eclectic town of Gulfport, Gulfport is home to many restaurants, shops, and art galleries. It is a great place to spend an afternoon or have a grouper sandwich for lunch. Also, in the evening, one can enjoy local entertainment after watching the beautiful sunset over Boca Ciega Bay.
Both locations are truly perfect for a family vacation, a couple’s get-away, or a girls’ weekend. Warm tropical breezes, beautiful sunsets, pristine white beaches, and plenty of activities to choose from await you in Clearwater and St. Petersburg Beaches. Both areas offer many events and entertainment options each month. R-tinerary has been to both these places and we have a great itinerary planned for you!
