Description
Waterfalls & Wineries
Waterfalls and Wineries is a 6-day itinerary. It takes one to the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. This area is just a hop, skip and a jump from Atlanta. And it has become a popular destination for wine enthusiasts. Georgia is known for its peaches. But did we know that it is also becoming known for it’s beautiful vineyards and wineries? We had definitely heard about wineries popping up in Georgia over the last several years. But we had not really taken Georgia wines seriously for sure.
Covid and Travel Options
We have experienced many popular wine regions in Europe and the United States . Such as Napa, Italy, Sonoma, Germany, France, etc.. And who would imagine that several of these wineries in North Georgia truly could compete. This year we are limited in travel destinations due to Covid. Because of this decided to get in the car and check Georgia out. We had all been to the area in year’s past to do other “tourist” things. But visits to wineries was never one of them.
6-day Itinerary
On this 6-day itinerary, we visited 10 wineries that all were within easy driving distances to each other. There were many more on our list. However, several of the wineries were not open on days we could easily get to them in our plans. Of the 10, we would definitely revisit many of those. The casual atmosphere, the beautiful vistas, and the ability to sit outside. In addition, many allow you to bring your own food in. These were all perks to the wine experiences themselves.
Hikes and Waterfalls
In addition to the wineries, also included are hikes to waterfalls and swinging bridges. We took the opportunity the area has to offer to fit in a little exercise most days. And take in the tremendous beauty the mountains afford. None of the hikes were overly strenuous. And most would be considered easy to moderate.

We had such a wonderful experience with these ideas and suggestions. We also loved Cavender Creek and Frogtown.
